About Us

Creative. Community-minded. Unafraid of challenges. This is who we are. We’re a small, hands-on development business that believes in building neighborhoods, complete with architecturally stimulating residential properties and meaningful commercial development. We’re equipped to handle all your building needs — from fully-custom and semi-custom homes to restored historic homes and commercial buildings.

Minkis is composed of two businesses with different development specialties. Minkis Builders is the residential component, which includes Fall Creek Place, Herron Square, single-family homes and town homes. Minkis Construction is the commercial component, which includes projects such as Fire Station #14, St. Joseph’s Institute for the Deaf, churches and warehouses.

Minkis Construction began in 1985 in Broad Ripple, focusing on residential and commercial remodeling. Today, Minkis is a strong business in Fall Creek Place, where much of their development occurs. Sherry not only manages the production side of the business, but also oversees a variety of business responsibilities including negotiating contracts, securing subcontractors and selecting vendors and products.

How do you begin a relationship with Minkis Builders? First, set up an appointment with Sherry. She will guide you in determining where you want to live and how much you want to spend. Next, you’ll choose from a variety of designs and colors to find the perfect fit for you. Depending on the product, your home, loft or studio will be completed in three to six months.

Minkis Builders is certified by the state of Indiana as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) and a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE). A DBE signifies that a company does $10 million or less of business a year.
